Kew REACH is a habitat restoration consultancy formed as a collaboration between the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) and Greensphere Capital. Established in November 2023, Kew REACH builds on the scientific and horticultural expertise of the RBG Kew, to provide advice and solutions for habitat restoration and biodiversity enhancement. Powered by Kew’s 500+ researchers and extensive collections such as the Millennium Seed Bank and Kew’s Herbarium with over 7 million plant specimens, Kew REACH offers a full spectrum of advisory-to-delivery services. We collaborate with governments, the commercial sector, and multilateral organizations globally to develop nature-based solutions that address land degradation and biodiversity loss. Our partnership with Kew ensures science remains at the core of all our initiatives, and this drives rapid growth and innovation.

Position Overview
We’re looking for a talented Consultant with strong project management skills to join the Kew REACH team on a permanent, full-time basis, initially focused on a flagship initiative in Saudi Arabia, working closely with technical experts but RBG Kew and other partners.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, impact-oriented environment and wants to play a key role in launching one of our flagship projects. You will be the operational lead for Phase 1 of the project, ensuring delivery of six core outputs over the first 12 months.
While this project will be your initial focus, you’ll be stepping into a central role within our core team at an exciting early stage. With Kew REACH’s bold and ambitious goals for global restoration, this is a rare opportunity to grow with a dynamic start-up help shape an expanding portfolio of projects and play a key role in driving our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities (with a focus on Y1)
- Project Management: Lead day-to-day implementation of a high-impact public sector project (Phase 1), ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
- Team Coordination: Oversee and align the work of technical consultants, field teams, and training specialists.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong working relationships with RBG Kew, project partners, local and government stakeholders.
- Planning & Monitoring: Develop and maintain a detailed project plan and Gantt chart; track KPIs and control project budget.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance: Ensure thorough document management, version control, and quality review processes.
- Logistics & Administration: Coordinate logistics for site visits, workshops, and training programmes.
- Reporting & Risk Management: Prepare updates and reports for internal and external audiences; proactively manage risks.
- Future Planning: Support proposal development and strategy for Phase 2, scheduled to begin in Month 7.
About You
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consulting, ideally overseeing complex environmental or conservation projects in an international context
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop evidence-based solutions to complex challenges
- Strategic thinker with excellent project management capabilities and intellectual curiosity
- Experience managing diverse technical teams and working within international development settings
- Sound knowledge of environmental conservation, restoration, or nature-based solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and align project delivery with client needs and expectations
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of how to balance mission-driven work with sustainable business practices
- Proficient in preparing technical documentation and using document management systems
- Skilled in project management software and tools
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Purpose-driven, with a genuine passion for habitat restoration and environmental impact

- Based in our London office, with limited international travel as needed
